My Sharks were ferocious this weekend taking 2nd in the Dixie Fury tournament at Palmer Park. We played 7 tough ball games and took home the 2nd place trophy. Way to go Sharks!

Pool Play:

Game 1:  My Sharks played the Southern Heat and won 2-1. Bree, Sabrenna, Melissa, Danielle, Nicole and Kaitlin all had singles and Jordynn contributed a triple.

Game 2:  My Sharks lost to the Dixie Fury 7-2. Bree, Nicole, Sarah, Michelle, Jordynn, Melissa all had singles and Kaitlin contributed a triple.

Tournament Play:

Game 3:  My Sharks regrouped and came back and beat the Dixie Fury 6-5.  Kaitlin scored on Michelle’s triple, after getting hit by a pitch, Jordynn singled home Michelle and Melissa added a single in the first. Bree singled and scored on Melissa’s double in the third. Danielle brought Mo in on a double to left. Sabrenna and Anna Grace added singles in the game which went to an international tie breaker in the 5th.  Michelle started on second and scored on Jordynn’s double to center. Jordynn scored on Melissa’s hit to second. My Sharks held the Home team Fury to one run in the bottom of the 5th to clinch the win.

Game 4: My Sharks played the Xtreme Chaos and won 3-0. Kaitlin and Bree singled in the first and Jordynn sac flied Kaitlin home. Danielle doubled in the third, Kaitlin doubled home Nicole in the 4th and then scored on Jordynn’s grounder.

Game 5:  My Sharks played the NA Kraze and lost a battle 3-2 in the bottom of the 4th inning.  Kaitlin scored on Melissa’s single to left in the first.  Jordynn, Michelle, Danielle had singles in the game.  Bree sac flied home Lacey in the 3rd for the second Shark run.  My Sharks were leading 2-1 going into the bottom of the 4th and gave up 2 runs to move into the Loser’s bracket.

Game 6:  My Sharks played the Chaos again in the blistering heat.  The Chaos was overcome by the heat and lost to my Sharks 3-1.  Kaitlin,, Melissa, Michelle, Danielle and Lacy had singles in the game. Nicole had 2 singles.  The big hit of the game came in the 4th inning - Sabrenna hit a 3-run homerun to clinch the game.

Game 7: Championship Game vs. The Kraze: My Sharks played a tough game and lost in 7 innings 4-3 to take home the 2nd place trophy. Melissa, Michelle, Danielle, Sarah and Lacey all had singles in the 4th. Sabrenna added a single in the 5th.  Kaitlin got hit  by a pitch again, Mr. Revis got hit by a pitch, and Danielle took a ball to the mouth. All in all it was a good hot weekend and I am proud of the way my Sharks came together and played as a team.
